“Police should have cordial relationship with public for the smooth conduct of law and order maintenance,” opined Higher Education Minister Dr V S Acharya.

Speaking after inaugurating newly built Kaup Circle Inspector Office here at Sri Laxmi Janardhana temple hall on Sunday, he said government is taking all measures to maintain law and order that is more essential for the progress of State. The State police force will be equipped with modern equipment and technologies to strengthen the force. Additional importance is given to internal security, he added.

He said as some parts of Kaup police station units come under the jurisdiction of Karkala DySP, the reason why the process of executing law and order is laborious in the area. Plans will be chalked out to reform the jurisdiction limits of the segregated areas, he assured.

IGP (Western Range) Alok Mohan said police should strive to build crime-free society thereby establishing trustworthy relationship with the public. Measures will be taken to include the areas of Kaup police station units that come under Karkala DySP jurisdiction to Udupi shortly. Vehicles will be provided to Kaup police station to cover up the shortage, he said.
