<p> <br />Disclosing this to reporters after holding the first meeting of Cabinet sub-committee set up to plan the celebrations, Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy said the celebrations will start on November 1 on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava, and Vijayanagar utsava will be organised on November 27, 28 and 29.<br /><br />The sub-committee has planned to install a statue of Krishnadevaraya and develop a 80-acre garden at Hampi in Bellary, which was the capital of the then Vijayanagar empire. <br /><br />Besides, serials and documentaries on the Vijayanagar empire and Krishnadevaraya will be brought out. <br /><br />Essay and drawing competitions will be organised for schoolchildren in this regard, he added. The sub-committee, he said, has not yet estimated the expenditure for the celebrations. The Cabinet will finalise all the plans with respect to the celebrations, he added.</p>
