Ambedkar revered for drafting Constitution of India

He was speaking after inaugurating 120th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar organised jointly by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Mysore City Corporation (MCC), Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and Department of Social Welfare, at Kalamandira in the city on Thursday.

There are countries where have’s are riding over have not’s subjecting the people to endless misery. However, in India the situation is totally different with Constitution to safeguard the interests of all, the minister added.

Describing the constitution expert as a great leader, the minister said that the latter dedicated the acumen for the good of the society.

He had inherited the ability to struggle from his father, who was a soldier in the army of Britishers.

The minister however felt sorry to note that the great human being ever seen by the country is restricted to one particular community.

What’s pathetic is, the political leaders who had to educate the people irrespective of community about the very person, turned opportunistic creating a vote bank for their own benefits.

Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences Chairman Prof D Anand said apart from playing a key role in bringing out the constitution, Ambedkar propagated humanity.

Referring to a point of minister saying that Ambedkar has become an asset of a particular community, Anand said that the champion of dalits still remains the voice of all the oppressed people irrespective of community.

Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) Chairman G T Devegowda released the calendar brought out on the occasion.

A slide show of black and white photographs pertaining to the life history of Ambedkar was the highlight of the programme.

A LCD screen fitted at a corner of the auditorium, screened the photographs simultaneously giving the audience a chance to peek into the facts connected with the great man’s life.

Mayor Sandesh Swamy, Deputy Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Taluk Panchayat President Manjula Manunath, Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) Chairman B P Manjunath and others were present.
