Student dies in accident

Abhinav Yaparla was returning home on his two-wheeler when the SUV collided with his bike injuring him severely. The driver shifted him to a nearby hospital and fled. Abhinav is a native of Hyderabad and was studying at the National Institute of Creative Communication (NICC). He was a resident of Munikrishnappa Layout near Vijayanagar.

However, giving another version of the incident, NICC principal Akash Kumar told Deccan Herald that a passerby noticed Abhinav lying in a pool of blood near the junction. He took Abhinav’s cellphone and dialled the last number called from the phone. “That was how the accident came to light. Abhinav was a bright student,” the principal said.

Man killed

K Siddappa, a private firm worker, was killed on the spot when he came under the wheels of a goods vehicle at Garudacharpalya on Tuesday. Siddappa was a resident of Mahadevapura in Cauverynagar.

The two-wheeler on which Siddappa was riding pillion was knocked from behind by the goods vehicle. The driver fled the scene abandoning the vehicle.

Akram’s brother held

A CCB team on Tuesday took into custody at Shimoga the brother of the chief suspect in the murder of a City realtor.

Nassir will be interrogated on whereabouts of Akram, who has been absconding after the murder of B Nanjundaiah here on Sunday.
