Age is mere number for Sai Baba devotees

Sai Ram Vishnu (name changed), a native of Hyderabad, is an ardent devotee. He lives in Mangalore with his family. Early on Sunday morning, his family of five arrived at Puttaparthi. According to him, the Baba lived for almost 100 years as per Chandramana.

K Radhakrishna Naidu, another devotee, made the interesting remark that though the Baba prophesied his age, he had also declared that he could depart early if needed.

Donald Richie (66) from North Scotland said he was not bothered about the incorrectness of Baba’s prediction. He stood in men’s queue to get a glimpse of Sai Baba whereas his wife Isobel had lined up in women’s queue.

The couple, along with their two daughters, had met Baba at Whitefield. They have been visiting Puttaparthi twice or thrice annually.

Recalling his meeting with the Baba, Richie said, “He touched my hair gently and gifted me clothing material.” He hoped that the Sri Sathya Sai Trust would continue to work properly but was unsure about Puttaparthi’s future. “I’m not sure how it will develop,” he added.
