A stone’s throw away from the historical Kadu Malleshwara temple in Malleswaram, the building is constructed on a sprawling 10,000 sq feet plot leased from BBMP.

The four-storey ‘Jagannath Bhavan’, named after the well known Jan Sangh leader Jagannath Rao Joshi, will be the first green building from which a political party operates.
Equipped with state-of-art facilities to ensure security of VVIPs, the building has 20 high resolution cameras and complete wi-fi. “This has been incorporated with such technically advanced equipment to enable direct telecast of any conference going on in this building,” said chief architect K R Sathyaprasad.

The complex has a conference hall, media centre, video conferencing facilities, a library and an auditorium with a seating capacity of 200. The built up area has designated office rooms for the party office-bearers. It also has a residential floor with six guest rooms and two separate dormitories for male and female party workers.

The building has a rainwater harvesting system, fire fighting equipment and solar energy devices. Sathyaprasad said he had even applied for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification (an internationally recognised green building certification system) for the building.

BJP State Chief K S Eshwarappa stated that was the building cost of Rs four crore was collected through donations from party sympathisers. It has been constructed as per ‘Vaastu’. The party would have own building in all the districts, Eshwarappa said. At present, the party has its own buildings in Mangalore, Udupi, Bellary and Shimoga.
