Chalo Dilli is a movie about two strangers (Lara Dutta and Vinay Pathak) who meet on a journey from Mumbai to Delhi. Both the characters are poles apart — Lara Dutta’s Mihika is a sophisticated, career oriented woman, while Vinay Pathak’s Manu is a lively saree trader from Karol Bagh.

Circumstances force them to travel together and their mode of travel ranges from flight, taxi and truck to the camel cart and train to reach their destination. Throughout the journey they get into one or the other kind of trouble.

If this leads to a predictable climax, then you are wrong. The script too is different from the usual fare - there’s no ‘romance’ between the leads, mandatory in other films.

The movie has enough comedy to entertain the viewers. Vinay Pathak’s acting as usual is extremely good and even Lara Dutta fits into the character. Songs are not an integral part of the movie, but the Yana Gupta’s item number definitely captures your fancy. Certainly this movie isn’t the one for music lovers.

Chalo Dilli is an entertaining movie with a good message. Worth watching.
