<p>Ramanjaneya had been trapped by the Lokayukta when he was taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 in November 2010, when he was the Special Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore Urban.<br /><br />Following allegations of corruption against Ramanjaneya, a Karnataka Administrative Service officer, Lokayukta set a trap for him. Ramanjaneya and two of his private aides were caught on the charge of accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a land owner Narayanaswamy of Bommasandra. <br /><br />Narayanaswamy had approached Ramanjaneya to get a 5.14-acre agricultural land at Bommasandra in Anekal Taluk converted into residential plots. In exchange, Ramanjaneya demanded Rs two lakh bribe which Narayanaswamy had agreed to pay in instalments. <br /><br />Ramanjaneya was caught red handed when Narayanswamy paid the money to one of Ramanjaneya’s aides following instructions from him.<br /></p>
