Metro tenders awarded

 The BMRCL board that met here on Saturday, awarded tenders for installation of AFC (Automated Fare Collection) system to the Samsung led consortium.

Sources in BMRCL said the board meeting held under the chairmanship of Dr M Ramachandran, Secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development (MuD), Government of India and the MD N Sivasailam approved and awarded the tender to Samsung.

Software design

 “They will be entrusted with the design of software and hardware of the equipment and ‘Smart Cards’ that will be installed at the entry or exit gates of all ‘Namma Metro’ stations” informed officials.
