JOIN US Addressing the review meeting of the 15 point programmes at DC office on Friday, he said that target of minorities under Ashraya, Rajiv Gandhi Housing Project must be increased and directed the Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary to withhold the Action Plan of the department which cuts down the reservation for the minorities.
He asked the Council Commissioner to set 15 per cent of the Ashraya houses for minorities and distribute the sites by August 15.
He said that since sericulture is a profitable venture, 15 to 16 groups of minority silk growers must be formed under SGSY Project and sericulture must be promoted among the group.
“Even the loans made by Lead Bank and Co-operatives has gone down considerably. Steps must be taken to increase the monetary assistance to minorities,” the DC opined and asked the Department of Employment officials to visit the areas which has larger minority population and take up registration in such areas.
