'KAPICON- 2011' in city

More than 800 delegates are expected to participate in the conference.

Physicians and post graduate students from all over the State are taking part to discuss the recent advances in the field of internal medicine. Medical Education and District In-Charge Minister S A Ramdas will inaugurate the conference on May 13 at 5.30 pm. JSS University Vice-Chancellor Dr B Suresh will release the souvenir ‘My Kapicon 2011’ and Dean and Director of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute Dr Geetha K Avadhani, Director of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology Dr C N Manjunath will be the chief guests. More than 160 research paper presentations, five orations by faculty, 25 guest lectures and a clinico pathological conference will also be held on the sidelines. Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Vice-Chancellor Dr S Ramananda Shetty will inaugurate the CME programme.

Chairman of Mysore Physician Research Trust (MPMRT)  Physician Dr C D Srinivasa Murthy, and Director of Karnataka Institute of Diabetology will participate in the inauguration. A medical exhibition will be held on the sidelines by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar.

A special health awareness programme will be conducted at Platinum Jubilee Auditorium at J K Grounds between 5.30 pm and 7.30 pm on May 14. A team of experts will be presenting slides in Kannada to improve awareness among people about preventing diseases.
