Legal literacy on wheels in C'ballapur

Speaking at a meeting at the office of District Legal Services Authority here on Sunday, District and Sessions Judge Sripad Sankolli said that an innovative legal literacy and mobile public court programme has been formulated to hear grievances from the public at large. The programme also aims enlighten the layman on the laws of the land. A vehicle will traverse the six taluks of the district from August 24 to September 17.

The programme will be held from August 24 to 26 at Shidlaghatta, Aug 27 to 31 at Chikkaballapur, Sep 2 to 6 at Gauribidanur, Sep 7 to 10 at Gudibande, Sep 11 to 14 at Bagepalli and from Sept 15 to 17 at Chintamani. Experts will speak on various issues at schools and colleges in the morning, and at rural areas in the evening, the judge said.
Deputy Commissioner Anwar Pasha said that such programmes help in creating awareness on laws in the public and would pave way for building a crime-free society.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer N Krishnappa, Assistant Commissioner G V Seenappa and officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
