Trader's guts comes in handy

Ramesh, who has a shop at Bandipalya APMC yard was returning home in his van, around 8 pm was waylaid by a car near the Lorry Terminal.

Ramesh was accompanied by his writer and another inside.

Attack

He also had two bags- one that of cash, another bill books.

By the time they could understand what was happening, the attackers sprayed a liquid that caused burning sensation.

They were escaping with the bags, when Ramesh mustered courage to chase them.
In the melee, an assailant dropped a bag and made with another.

Luckily, the bag recovered by Ramesh had `24,000 in cash, while the miscreants made away with bill books.

K R Police who have registered a case suspect that the miscreants may have stalked Ramesh, before launching an attack on the latter.

Theft

Burglars have decamped with silver valuables and cash totalling worth ` 28,000 from a house at Kanakadasa Nagar here on Friday.

Krishnaprasad, a retired registrar of Academy of Sanskrit Research Samsath, Melukote had been to Melukote on May 9, along with his wife.

He returned on May 13, only to discover theft. Silver goods worth ` 24,000 and ` 4,000 in cash was missing.

Kuvempunagar Police have registered a case.
