'Art is an expression of the heart'

Rao said that an artist captures the special moment and state of an event and brings forth his view on canvas. Mentioning that realistic art captures the various stages of reality, he said that there are various stages in art.

Artists M Ramanarasayya and G L N Simha were presented with the M T V Acharya Awards on the occasion.

Ramanarasaiah is renowned for the huge painting of Jayachamaraja Wadiyar displayed at the Jaganmohan Palace. G L N Simha has worked as an artist in magazines such as ‘Mayura’ and ‘Sudha’.

Writer Dr A L Narasimhan, Acharya Chitrakala Bhavan Secretary L Shivalingappa, President U S Venkataraman and others were present.
