KDP meeting held in Hassan; issues related to fertiliser, shortage of doctors discussed

Reviewing the progress of works at the Karnataka Development Programmes meeting held here on Monday, he asked officials to prepare action plan for all works and achieve the given target before March, 2012.

The District Health and Family Welfare Officer was asked to get the generator at Belur taluk General Hospital repaired on priority. Incidents of doctors, nurses prescribing medicines, tablets, giving injections to patients by using mobile phone light are happening whenever electricity goes off in the hospital.

When the chairman of the Standing Committee on Social Justice Dyavaiah complained shortage of doctors in Primary Health Centres in the district,  CEO S T Anjankumar promised to take steps to address this problem at the earliest.

The CEO asked officials of Engineering Department to supply drinking water from river wherever it is possible to ease drinking water crisis . They should not sink new bore wells if the water is available in river.

On complaints of appointment of Cluster Resource and Block Resource persons in Department of Education sans merit, Anjankumar wanted the officials concerned to go by merit of candidates and not to appoint dull heads.

He lauded the Department of Edcuation for ensuring 81.32 per cent results in the recently held SSLC examsy. The Hassan district, which was in ninth position last year, is now fifth place.

The Department of Women and Child Welfare officers must   visit anganawadi centres to check the quality of supply food being given to kids.

On the delay in supplying  potato and other seeds and fertilisers to farmers, the CEO took officials of the Department of Agriculture for poor supply of seeds and fertilisers.

Issues related to delay in the distribution of bonds and identification of beneficiaries under Bhagyalakshmi scheme also discussed in the meeting.
