Suspected Maoists kill factory official in Warangal

Two unidentified persons under the guise of lorry drivers arrived at the place where factory workers were on strike for the last fortnight demanding increase in salaries and other demands, police said.

When Deputy General Manager of Andhra Pradesh Rayons factory, Ramakrishna, and senior officer, Sudarshan, came to the dharna place to talk with the striking employees, the two assailants opened fire at them from point blank range, police said quoting eyewitnesses.
Both injured were taken to Eturunagaram Area hospital. While Ramakrishna succumbed to injuries on way to hospital, Sudarhsna was admitted in the hospital in a critical condition.
The factory is located about 130 km away from here in forest area. After the incident the police have launched combing operation in the area as they suspect it to be a handiwork of maoists, police said.
