A single judge bench of Justice M N Bhandari passed this interim order on an application requesting cancellation of the bail granted by the court. The next hearing in the case will be on July 4.

He is accused of irregularities in disbursement of funds to the tune of Rs 6 crores which the IPL had promised to give to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the help of victims of Jaipur bomb blasts in 2008. Of the promised amount, only Rs 5 crore 80 lakh was paid as the two partner sponsors of the IPL tournament failed to put in their shares.

An FIR was registered against Modi under Section 420 (cheating) and 467 (forgery) of the IPC, following which he moved court seeking anticipatory bail. The bail was granted on March 29, 2008. But, according to A K Jain, counsel for complainant Sandeep Bhatra, Modi "enraged on bail".

As per bail condition he was not allowed to leave India without the court's permission. However, Modi claimed that he left India before the anticipatory bail was granted.
