Dhanush dedicates award to Rajinikanth's speedy recovery

"I dedicate this award to the speedy recovery of my father-in-law and superstar Rajinikanth Sir," he told reporters here.

Dhanush was chosen to share the best actor honour with Malayalam actor Salim Kumar when the 58th National film awards were announced in Delhi today. He bagged the award for his role in 'Aadukalam' while Salim Kumar, who usually essays the role of a comedian, bagged it for the film 'Adaminte Makan Abu' (Abu, son of Adam).

Dhanush, who was earlier beside Rajinikanth at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre here, said his father-in-law was very happy with his achievement and blessed him. "We are all waiting for the moment when he comes back home and we will celebrate this," he said.
On the award, he said he owed it to director Vetrimaran who was adjudged the best director.

He also thanked his father and brother, both filmmakers and his wife Aishwarya for their support.Dhanush said the joy of bagging the award was yet to sink in. "I am happy God has given me an opportunity to make my father-in-law Rajinikanth proud of me," he said.
