US dollars among articles stolen

The incident came to light on Saturday, when the inmates returned to their residence.The burglars who have gained entry to the house through the door on the terrace, have stolen 25 grams of gold valuables, 2.5 kg of silver articles, 800 US dollars, four wrist watches and ` 15,000 in cash kept in the almirah. Dr Narasimha Bhat, the owner of the house at Jnana Marga in Siddartha Nagar had been to Bangalore on May 16, along with his family, for the engagement ceremony of his son Tejasvi. Nazarbad Police have registered a case.

One arrested

In another incident, Nazarbad police on Saturday arrested a bank employee on theft charges. Subhash, working with a bank in Bangalore had barged into the house of Uma at Alanahalli here on May 13. Uma who owed ` two lakh and failed to pay back the same. In a fit of rage, Subhash had carried away a cheque for  ` two lakh and an insurance bond belonging to the lady.

She had lodged a complaint against Subhash, accusing him of making away with valuables and a huge cash on the day. Acting on this, the cops apprehended Subhash and produced him before a court.
