Constable commits suicide

 Ramachandra (53) was a handler in the dog squad and lived in the C Block in Adugodi police quarters. The reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained.

The police said Ramachandra went out Sunday morning on duty. He went to the CAR ground and collapsed. A few people noticed the policeman lying on the ground in an unconscious state.

He was rushed to Bowring Hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Ramachandra was from Channapatna taluk in Ramanagar district. He was posted at CAR Bangalore after recruitment and served for more than 23 years.

Ramachandra is survived by wife Sumithramma, son Srikanth (18) and daughter Arthika (21).

Sources in the police department said he appeared to be under pressure for the last few months and spoke very little.

He was facing financial problem, although not of a serious nature. The higher-ups in the department liked him as he was punctual.
