Putting in their best efforts

Energetic: A group dance.

The day was indeed a cultural and traditional extravaganza with students showcasing an array of events like modern song and dance sequences to fashion shows.

It started off with an invocation song and a dance show and was later converted to a platform for students to exhibit their talent. Students put in their best efforts to make the event entertaining and lively.

“I didn’t know that some of my friends are so talented and could even play many instruments,” said Pradeep, a first year student.

Cultural events included a solo dance by Sushma, the winner of the intra-college dance competition and a fusion group dance by the team ‘Showstopper’.

Mayur, an aeronautical engineering student, sang the song Enaagali Munde Saagu Nee to inspire fellow students to dream big in their lives.

Rohit Patel, who won the first place in solo singing during the intra-college fest, also crooned a couple of songs “It took us nearly two months to prepare and put up this show. We used to stay back in college after classes to practise. But we really had a great time. We got to know our juniors and our lecturers a lot better thanks to this day. Though ours is just a two-year-old institution, we successfully conducted the fest with a lot of fun,” said Sushmita, a final year student who also expressed her wish to play the guitar during the next graduation day.

The one-of-its-kind fashion show put up by the students of civil engineering department took the audience by surprise.

The students, who walked the ramp, carried various technical instruments used in the construction process as their props.

“We never knew that these men would look so good walking down the ramp with the equipment as props for the fashion show,” said Amit, a lecturer.

“When the students came up with this idea, I was skeptical about its success. But it worked out brilliantly. On the occasion, the meritorious students and those who secured prizes in different competitions were felicitated,” he added.
