Four more TTMCs on the anvil

Speaking at the inauguration of the Yeshwantpur TTMC on Tuesday, Transport Minister R Ashoka said that more such centres will be constructed on private public partnership model.

However, the department has decided to relax norms to rent out commercial spaces in the TTMCs to attract tenants.

Senior BMTC officials told Deccan Herald that with almost a lakh square feet of commercial space available at Kengeri, Yeshwantpur and Whitefield TTMCs, it had been decided to ease norms governing their let-out.

The Yeshwanthpur TTMC was constructed at a cost of Rs 91.90 crore and has 18 platforms to facilitate 30 bus operations at a a time.

13 skywalks

As many as 13 new skywalks would come up in the City, to be built on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis by the advertising agencies.

The skywalks have been proposed near Kanteerava Stadium, Commissionerate Street, Guttahalli Palace Road, Residency Road, IAF ASC Centre Gangenahalli, Mount Carmel College, Opposite Forum Mall, near Pallavi Theatre, Race Course Road (near Chalukya Hotel) Palace Road, near Maharani College, near BBMP office Byatarayanapura, near Mallya Hospital and between Ananda Rao Circle and Khoday's Circle.

The total project cost would be Rs 3.16 crore and the Palike would not pay any money.
Instead the advertisers would construct operate and later transfer the ownership of skywalks to the BBMP once the term gets over.
