"While six people died on the spot, three succumbed on their way to hospital," Deputy Superintendent of Police O.P. Singh told IANS.
"Those died include a woman, six girls and two boys - all aged between 4-15 years. All of them are local people. The rescue operations are over. No one is missing now," he added.
According to police, they were going to offer a "chaadar" at a mazar in Datiya Indergarh village when the accident took place.
