Relations between CIA and ISI repaired after row: Gilani

Last Updated 04 May 2018, 01:56 IST

"In the back drop of recent incidents, relations between the CIA and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) were strained but now they stand repaired," Gilani said while interacting with a small group of journalists here.

Both spy agencies had a decade-long relation of intelligence cooperation and it could not be damaged by one or two incidents, Gilani said.

"Both the agencies are sharing intelligence," he said.

Gilani said he had made it clear to the US that Pakistan did not want a repeat of the incident in which bin Laden was killed.

The US unilaterally carried out a commando operation in the garrison city of Abbottabad, 120 km from the federal capital Islamabad, and killed the al-Qaeda leader on May 2.

"We do not want the US to go in for another operation in our country unilaterally and I have made this clear to (Secretary of State) Hillary Clinton and (Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman) John Kerry in meetings held in Islamabad," he said.
