Strauss-Kahn 'behaved like a gentleman" in custody: Report

Last Updated 04 May 2018, 01:57 IST

When Strauss-Kahn was in the interview room — called "the box" — he made no statements and faced no questioning since he had already asked for a lawyer, the Newsweek report said.

"He was an absolute gentleman," Lt Adam Lamboy, commander of the Manhattan Special Victims Squad, the unit handling the case, was quoted as saying by the magazine.
"You have arguably one of the most powerful men on the planet put in here, but he handled it with dignity, I'll say that," he added.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, has been charged with sexually assaulting a 32-year-old hotel maid in a Manhattan hotel.

He is spending his house arrest in a luxurious house in the posh area of Tribeca. The former IMF chief has to wear an electronic monitoring device and he will be surrounded by armed guards.
