Though only two students from coastal districts could make it to the top 10 in the CET this year, several students found position within 50. For Shwetha Poojary, a student of Expert PU College who secured 25th rank in medical, to secure her position within top 50 was inevitable.

Her mother Savitha Poojary said that now she will not come in the way of her daughter’s dream. She has proved her interest and ability.

Sannidhi from Expert PU College who has secured 36th rank in Engineering said he never took extra strain to study for CET.

“I am not a kind of student who would burn midnight oil to secure high rank. I studied when ever I felt like studying. I am happy that I have got good ranking in the CET. I am eagerly looking forward for AIEEE results as I intend to pursue Engineering in NITK, Surathkal,” he added.

In CET one need problem solving ability based on theoretical knowledge unlike IIT exams where one needs sound knowledge of basics. I did not study specifically for the CET. My preparations started only a week before the exams,” he added.

“I want to become a IAS officer,” he said.

The other top rank holders in the district includes Harsha from Manipal Junior College who has secured 20th rank in engineering and Ramachandra from PPC scored 21st rank in engineering.
