* May 30, 2007: NDTV telecasts a sting operation showing defence counsel R K Anand and then Special Public Prosecutor I U Khan colluding to influence witness Kulkarni during the trial of the BMW hit-and-run case.

* May 31, 2007: Delhi High Court takes suo motu cognisance of the expose.

* Aug 7, 2007: HC issues notice to both the lawyers.

* Sept 5, 2007: Anand files withdrawal plea against Justice Manmohan Sarin from the case.

* Oct 4, 2007: Justice Sarin refuses to withdraw himself from hearing the case but his brother judge Justice S K Mishra withdraws.

* Nov 29, 2007: HC rejects review petition against its order refusing to withdraw Justice Sarin.

* Dec 4, 2007: Supreme Court refuses to pass any order on Anand's plea seeking withdrawal of Justice Sarin.

* Dec 14, 2007: Anand withdraws his plea in SC.

* Aug 21, 2008: HC holds Anand and Khan guilty of contempt of court and debars them from appearing in courts for four months. It strips them off their status as senior advocate.

* Sep, 2008: Anand and Khan approach SC against their conviction.

* Sep 22, 2008: SC refuses to grant interim stay on conviction.

* Jan 14, 2009: SC issues notice to NDTV and appoints the then Additional Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam and senior advocate Nageswara Rao as amicus curiae.

* Jan 20, 2009: SC allows request of Anand and Khan for viewing the CD of sting operation.

* Feb 4, 2009: SC views 8-minute CD of sting operation produced by the NDTV.

* Mar 4, 2009: SC reserves its verdict in the case.

* Jul 29, 2009: SC upholds conviction of Anand and acquits Khan from charges of contempt of court.
