Addressing media here on Sunday, Narayan who is not leaving any stone unturned to cement his son Pankaj’s prospects as a hero in Sandalwood, said the film has opened to good crowds, with overwhelming response from all the centres.

It’s not usual commercial flick, but a different film that has also brought satisfaction to me as the man behind, said Narayan.

Explaining about the connecting facts, Narayan said the story was an inspiration of a real life incident, to which he was a witness in his nascent days.

If all had gone well, Narayan would have filmed it with Raghuveer in the lead, after runaway hit-Chaitrada Premanjali. But, it couldn’t see the light of the day due to many reasons.

However, the project got a push with writing the script eight years after, but to lose track again.

In 2003, though he made up his mind, lack of a likeable face to fit the role of a hero, shelved the project yet again. Similar was the fate, when Narayan attempted to launch the movie in 2009.

“My friends advised me to go ahead with Pankaj in the lead role and now it is a reality”, recalled Narayan.

Another  highlight of the movie is, barring Pankaj, almost all the characters in the movie are played by newcomers.

It’s a challenge and risk to extract work from them, claimed Narayan.

He was optimistic that the cash registers will ring, if not right away, in the coming days for sure.

Pankaj said he found it challenging to act with newcomers, and was afraid playing a few sequences.

But, I enjoyed during dubbing and was dumbstruck during the first show, said the excited newcomer.
