Petrol bunk staff robbed of Rs 23 lakh

The supervisor of the HP bunk at Edehalli in Dabaspet Gopal and manager Vasant Shetty were being taken in a car to deposit the money in a branch of the ICICI bank here when four men drove up in a SUV, interecepting the car.

The intruders forced their way into the car, initimidated the inmates with lethal weaons such as sickles, threw chilli powder in their eyes to blind them temporarily and snatched the money from them. When Shetty tried to peek out of the window to seek help, he was assaulted with a sickle.

The unidentified men forced the driver to drive for some distance, before tying the two staffers and the driver of the car, blindfolding them and taking away their mobile phones and wallets. The bunk staff registered a complaint with the Kyatasandra police station.
