Speaking in the wake of principal opposition party in the State Assembly Congress boycotting the assembly session demanding the resignation of the speaker K G Bopaiah over the strictures made by Supreme Court, Chandregowda addressing media said, according to the court there were some procedural lapses while disqualifying 11 BJP legislators.
It’s subject to judicial review. But, the behaviour of the opposition party is unacceptable. However, he replied that there is no solution, to end the stalemate.
On the persistent demand of the opposition to nail Bopaiah for his erroneous act, the MP said ‘the higher courts sometime find loopholes in the judgment of lower courts. Does this mean, the particular judge has to be shown doors? he questioned likening it to Bopaiah’s case.
Exception
Taking exception to police action against Baba Ramdev storming the protest site, the MP said that the Central government alone is not the authority to decide, instead it should have been discussed in the parliament.
He also defended the party’s decision to support his (Baba) strike, saying ‘it was in support of the cause (against corruption), not person’.
On the recent remark of BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani expressing unhappiness over Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, the MP preferred to make a comment, but finished saying ‘it’s his (Advani’s) opinion’.
