It also sought more financial help for construction of hostels for school boys and girls in the state. “There should be a scheme for providing accommodation to teachers working in rural areas. We want to do it and need financial assistance from the Centre,” said State minister for primary and secondary education Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri.
He said that he raised the issue of providing accommodation to teachers in rural areas before the Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal during the meeting of the state education ministers here.
Kageri also requested the Centre to provide more financial support for construction of hostels for school boys and girls in the state. “The centre is providing financial assistance for the construction of hostels. But our State needs more hostels for primary and secondary school students. For this we will need more money,” he said.
