Across Karnataka, 71,600 voters took part in the polling which was held to elect 25 members of the Council’s Enrolment Committee. A total of 96 candidates were in the fray across the State. In Bangalore, the number of candidates contesting the polls was 46.
As many as 54 polling counters were set up. Each counter had four booths. Voters were required to cast a preferential vote picking 25 candidates out of the total aspirants in the fray. The committee has a five-year term.
