Sitwala enters quarters

Packing a punch, Sitwala, who last November made a spirited march into the final of the World Professional billiards championship in Leeds, put up a sizzling performance, defeating the young Sherazi 151-(-346) in a Group B match at the ECA Club.

Sitwala posted a break of 212 before conjuring three century breaks -- 165, 118 and 110 -- as he booked his place in the quarterfinals with three wins from as many matches in the Super League phase of the meet.

Having suffered his second loss, Sherazi, who last week had to be rushed to the hospital during the State-ranking snooker tournament after complaining of fatigue, is in danger of missing the last-eight cut. In a closely-fought Group A match, Wilson Fernandes edged out Sajan Bopanna 151-108.
