Prasad who was on a day-long visit to Ahmedabad charged the UPA government with increasingly resorting to repressive ways reminiscent of emergency days.
“We want to warn the government that this is India of 2011 and not of 1975,” he added. He pointed out that BJP is now ruling in nine states and would resort to strong resistance against UPA-II in issues like corruption and blackmoney stashed in foreign land.
“The repressive character of this government is becoming increasingly evident with more and more cases of corruption coming out,” Prasad said.
He also alleged that the Manmohan Singh government would not take any effective steps to curb black money and corruption because the face of its own people would be exposed.
Hitting out at the Congress for targeting BJP and RSS for the anti-graft movements of Anna Hazare and Ramdev, Prasad said: “A cornered Congress always says it is the handiwork of RSS and BJP. I want to say that this has become an expired medicine now.”
The BJP will organise a protest against corruption from June 23 to June 26.
