Minority engineering colleges will offer 40 per cent of seats at Rs 30,00 or Rs 35,000 -- down by five per cent from last year. Medical colleges and dental colleges will offer 25 per cent of seats at Rs 35,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.

The agreement was signed by the minority college association, the Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Professional Colleges Association (KRLMPCA), on Monday. With this, all agreements between private colleges and the Government with respect to CET have been signed.

The State government will appoint a monitoring committee to oversee the implementation of the consensual agreement.

Fee for medical, dental courses

The Government has fixed fees for the first year medical and dental courses: Rs 16,700 for medical and Rs 14,400 for dental courses in the government colleges, and Rs 42,500 and Rs 32,500, respectively, in the private non-minority and minority colleges. The fee should be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of “The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority”, payable at Bangalore, Hubli, Belgaum, Mangalore, Shimoga, Gulbarga or Chitradurga. The SC/ST candidates are exempted from the fee.
