Malbari alleges assault inside jail

Speaking to mediapersons at the court premises after he was produced before the JMFC court here on Wednesday, he said “weapons were hidden inside the jail. Inspite of informing it to the Jail superintendent, no action has been initiated so far.”

“An attempt was made to kill Malbari. The jail authorities have not taken any action. Malbari has expressed his fear with the judge as well,” said Malbari’s advocate Purushotham Poojary.

It was said that Sharan, an accused in the murder of KVG Medical College Administrator Ramakrishna and Malbari had verbal duel inside the jail on Wednesday.

Sharan had warned Malabari. However, there was no murder attempt inside the jail, said superintendent P S Ambekar. Malabari was brought to Mangalore from Belgaum on June 11. He will be taken back on Thursday. The next hearing will be held on July 17.
