BSY, Reddy brothers gearing up for a face-off

Yeddyurappa, at a meeting of his close associates in the Cabinet on Thursday is said to have discussed means to tackle the Bellary brothers - Janardhana Reddy and Karunakara Reddy. The Bellary brothers on the other hand, are said to have mobilising support of several legislators.

The meeting had been convened to discuss the party’s election stratergy for the by-polls. However, as topics crossed, several ministers are said to have stated that the Bellary brothers need to be cut to size. The meeting is also said to have discussed the names of legislators close to the brothers. BJP State President D V Sadananda Gowda was present. The CM said the party needs to win in all the five constituencies going to the by-polls. While, Transport Minister Ashok has been made incharge of Govindarajnagar, his Cabinet colleague Katta Subramanya Naidu will handle Channapatna. Energy Minister K S Eshwarappa has been made incharge of Chittapur, sources said.

Later in the evening, Yeddyurappa held discussion with RSS leaders and discussed the possibility of going in for a cabinet reshuffle in the first week of September, sources said. BJP National President Rajnath Singh will be arriving in Bangalore on Friday. He is scheduled to inaugurate the party’s two-day state executive on Saturday. On Friday evening, Singh will have dinner at a party worker’s residence in Yelahanka. He is also slated to launch smart cards for BJP workers at Avalahalli village on Doddaballapur Road the same day.
