Crop loan at 1 per cent interest

Speaking to reporters, he said the government has set a target to disburse Rs 6,000 crore during this financial year.

As many as 88 per cent of farmers who had obtained crop loan at three per cent interest rate during the last financial year, have repaid the loan, he added.

The minister said the department has amended the recruitment rules to bring in transparency.  Accordingly, all district cooperative banks have to compulsorily conduct written examination for recruiting its staff.

Hitherto, the recruitment committee at the bank level had powers to give up to 25 marks in the viva. It has now been cut down to only five marks.
