KEA, which is holding the two-hour test for the first time, has assured that it won’t “repeat the mistakes committed by Visvesvaraya Technology University (VTU)”.

The task of conducting the test for admission to full-/part-time MBA, MBA (Infrastructure Management), MCA, ME, M Tech, M Arch courses of various universities in the State was assigned by the government to KEA through a notification on April 20, 2011. In 2010, the rank list of the test conducted by VTU was challenged by a student who alleged that norms on eligibility were flouted.

Later, she filed a writ petition in the High Court. She had contended that VTU allotted ranks to as many as 6,800 students who had not submitted their marks cards, thus plummeting her rank.

The court, subsequently, increased her rank.  Promising to conduct a smooth test, Rashmi V Mahesh, Executive Director, KEA, said that there would be no such mistakes.  The officer also said that the pattern of the question paper would remain unchanged.
