Kids paint to save environment

The venue was Shanthiniketan Art College where little children painted their feelings and concept of environment. This painting competition was organised by State Pollution Control Board, Department of Public Instruction, Forest Department, District Science Centre, Shanthiniketan Art College and Adventure Club, as a part of environment day. Hundreds of students from various schools across the city took part in the competition.

There were tigers, elephants, leopards, sages, trees and flowers picturing in almost every canvas. All in all tranquility, harmony and peace is what most of the children’s paintings were based on.

The students also staged dramas on issues related to environment as a part of the competition.

On the other hand, there were children in fancy dress attracting attention of people. Some were dressed as tribals, while many more were in disguise of tiger, rabit, elephant etc. As many as 500 students took part in the competition. As many as 20 teams, with five members in each team staged skits on environment. Jagadish, Kantharaju, H M Harsha from National School of Dance were the judges.

Shanthiniketan Art College Principal Vishwakarma Acharya, District Science Centre officials Neelakantappa, Sathyanarayana were present.
