The police arrested Amit Kumar (22) of Hastinapur village in Uttar Pradesh and Ravi Kumar Mehta (23) of Patna in Bihar. Their accomplices, Pankaj and Rajesh, however, managed to give police the slip.
The accused brought women from economically backward families in different States, promising them lucrative jobs. Later, they confined the women in a rented house and forced them into flesh trade.
The police trapped Kumar and Mehta when they were soliciting clients for the women confined in a house in 4th Block, Koramangala. When they raided the house, the police found three women, from Jhansi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
When interrogated, the women held the traffickers responsible for forcing them into flesh trade. Convinced of their innocence, the police officers sent the three women to their native towns.
