JOIN USAccording to police sources here, the culprits, also including two official gunners of the MLA, chased the girls, who were travelling with their cousins in their vehicle on Tuesday night on the busy National highway. They forced the vehicle to stop near a petrol pump. The culprits were joined by a few other men, who were in an SUV fitted with red beacon.
They thrashed the two cousins and also allegedly snatched Rs 20 thousand from them. The goons, then, forced the girls into their vehicle and took them to a secluded spot where they tried to molest them. The two girls shouted for help. “The goons threatened to kill the girls and told them that they were MLAs' men,” sources said.
The MLA's men had also switched off the cell phones of the victims. But one of the girls had managed to hide her mobile phone below the seats and later called the police control room to lodge a complaint.
