This will be the last exeuctive committee to be chaired by State Party president D V Sadananda Gowda as his term will conclude in October this year. During his stay in Bangalore, Singh is also meeting ministers and legislators. He is likely to collect views on the affairs of the party and functioning of the government.

A section of legislators in the party are planning to once again raise the issue of constitution of a core-committee to decide on matters of governance and appointments. Sources said, even after the two-day meeting, no major developments are expected as the present focus is on the bypolls.

Election strategy

The party will finalise its strategy for the bypolls at the meeting. The BJP is making all efforts to further consolidate its position in the Lower House. Ministers have already been given incharge responsibilities for poll management in the five constituencies.
