1 arrested, drugs seized

Mohammed Haneef, 27, was arrested and the police have seized 6.8 gram of LSD Blotter Paper worth Rs 1.5 lakh, 60 MDA capsules worth Rs 90,000 and 102 gram of MDA powder worth Rs 10.2 lakh. Besides, a mobile phone and Rs 15,100 in cash were seized. The police alleged that Haneef got his drugs through TNT courier.

The police said the banned drugs were worth Rs 13 lakh and Haneef was trying to sell them on 100 Feet Road in Indiranagar here.

Security guard dead
The J P Nagar police, on Sunday said that Gangaram Chetri, who had come to Bangalore about 15 days ago from Assam, was found dead at the construction site he was working at, as security guard.

Police suspect Gangaram was killed by ragpickers who were there to steal metals.

Stating there were no witnesses, the police said Amar Chetri, who was the Gangaram’s counterpart, was the first to learn of the incident on Sunday morning.
