Desecration of holy tree creates tension

A group of Sangh Parivar activists organised protest on the streets demanding action against miscreants who desecrated the pipal tree, which is being worshipped by many. Activists blocked the road near Hanumanthappa Circle and urged police to arrest the accused immediately.  The Bassavanahalli Police brought the situation under control by giving assurance of immediate action against miscreants.

The incident of desecration was brought to the notice of worshippers in the wee hours when they reached near the tree to clean the surroundings. They noticed a lace of chappals tied to the pipal tree. Immediately they removed.

However, the Sangh Parivar activists condemned the incident and organised protest.

Leaders of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishat too demanded that they would organise mass protest, if the accused were not arrested by the police. Similarly, District Congress Committee also urged the district administration to take necessary action against miscreants.
