3 held for killing man for gain

The trio were working with Delhi Punjab Roadlines Transport Company on SRS Road in Peenya. The company management had sacked them after they misused the company’s funds. They were in financial distress after they were fired.

Chetan was a clerk with the company. Daily, he withdrew huge sums of money from the company’s account in a bank for official purposes. The trio knew about Chetan’s routine and decided to murder him for money.

Chetan withdrew Rs 2.50 lakh from Syndicate Bank at Bazaar Circle at Yeshwantpur on July 11 and was about to go to SBM at Gorguntepalya to deposit Rs 10,000. The trio and their friend Jitendra, who is still at large, waited in a car outside Syndicate Bank.

They abducted Chetan, strangulated him in the car with a wire, collected
Rs 2.60 lakh and his cellphone, buried the body in a coffee estate at Tadakallu village at Yeslur hobli in Sakaleshpur taluk and fled.

Mahesh, a relative of Chetan, Dharmaraj, the company’s accountant and owner of the campany Venkatachalaiah lodged a missing complaint after Chetan went misssing. Chetan’s parents suspected the involvement of the trio in the incident. The police investigated and arrested the suspects at Kunigal Cross near Nelamangala when they were travelling in a car.

Shops raided

The CCB police on Monday raided four shops - Jai Padme, R K Garments, Modi Garments and Gayatri Creations - at Chickpet cross, Achar Street and Old Taragupet respectively, and arrested four men for selling fake branded garments.

Sanjay Raj (38) from Chamarajpet, Shankar (32) from Chickpet, Hajee (22) from Akkipet and Ram (22) from Taragupet were the arrested. Police seized 2,500 fake T-shirts and track pants of popular brands.

Held for chain snatching

Mahadevapura police arrested Murali (32) from Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu  and recovered two gold chains worth Rs 2.25 lakh.
