According to police, the arrested are B B Kumar (26), a resident of Madikeri Hill Road, Hosamane P Dilip Kumar (25) and Auto driver H S Bharathesh (25). However, the main accused Billavara Manu a resident of Kedakal village is absconding. B V Shanthappa Rai who was working in Siddarth resort in Kedakal was returning home in his two wheeler on July 25 when miscreants assaulted him and threw the body into a drain.
Under the leadership of DySP M Narayana a team had been constitued to solve the case. The main accused Billavara Manu was involved in the theft of wooden logs seven years ago. Shanthappa Rai had informed the police.
The team included P Basavaraju, Thimme Gowda, H K Sannappa, K G Vasanthkumar, M P Prabhakar, M B Sumesh, B P Sampath Rai, K D Thimmaiah, K G Madhusudhan and Albert D’Souza.
