'Dating but no touching'

They made a lot of noise and grabbed a lot of eyeballs and now it’s almost certain that Rakhi Sawant and Elesh Parujanwala are engaged to be married soon but nobody knows when? “I will wait until he’s ready for marriage. He has to walk up to me and tell me when he’s ready. I am an Indian girl and will never ask him to marry me,” says Rakhi.  

She describes Elesh as a “straightforward” and “broad-minded” man who’s independent in thought and action. She admires his courage and determination to be independent, “Marriage is no joke, we need enough money, car and a house before we can settle down. I don’t want him to depend on me at any time,” Rakhi told Metrolife.

She says Elesh is one among the very few men who respect women, “In fact, he has too much respect for women,” she quips.

“He’s bought time to earn well and settle down financially. His father is a rich man but Elesh is clear he won’t depend on his father for a single penny,” she reasons.

Rakhi likes to call her current status as “dating” but “no touching”.

“Haath To Pakad Sakta Hai but no touching. I am an Indian girl. What if he does whatever he wants and then walks away from me, you never know! Mein Kya Karoongi, Mein Kahan Jaoongi?” she observes.

She will soon meet Elesh’s friends and relatives at his sister’s wedding on August 15.

“Elesh and his family have watched me perform on youtube and confess they love me on screen but Elesh and I want to take time off to get to know each other as ordinary people. And he insists he wants to mingle with me sans my celebrity status,” says Rakhi.

Rakhi still gets calls from some of the guys who were on the show wanting to marry her.

“It’s scary as all these men have been hounding me even after I’ve told them I am engaged to another man,” she says.
