Last Updated 05 August 2009, 17:19 IST

The division bench comprising Chief Justice P D Dinakaran and Justice V G Sabhahit, has disposed of the petition after the Government submitted that the recruitment will be completed at the earliest.

The bench has directed the State government to issue appropriate orders in this regard on or before August 12. The bench suggested that the local bar members should be considered for this.

On the pending First Division Assistants (FDA) and Second Division Assistants (SDA) posts, the bench has directed to complete the recruitment of the remaining 51 FDAs and over 300 SDAs.

Earlier, Advocate General Ashok Harnahalli contended that the Director General of Police and the other top brass will personally pay attention and ensure the arrest of the persons who are absconding following the arrest warrant.

The State submitted that following a circular (dated July 1, 2009), 3,340 persons have been arrested and the remaining 15, 650 persons are yet to be arrested.

The bench suggested that a special cell be constituted at district and taluk level to execute the orders. The State also sought time to scrutinise the list of PPs. However the Court ordered completion of the process by August 12.
