Woman kills kids, ends life

The deceased have been identified as Shilpa (26), her son Pavan, and daughter, who was yet to be named.

Shilpa, from Kanakapura taluk, was married to Lokesh, a private company employee, and the couple lived with Lokesh’s elder brother Raju at Parangipalya, under the HSR Layout police station jurisdiction.

The police suspect that Shilpa’s health problems could have forced her to take the extreme step. Police said she strangled her daughter first, hanged Pavan and later hanged herself using the same rope.

The incident came to light when her brother-in-law returned home.

Homemaker found dead
A 26-year-old homemaker was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her house at Srinivasanagar in Sunkadakatte on Thursday night.

The deceased, Nandini, was married to Lokesh, an auto driver. The couple have two daughters. According to the police, Lokesh had taken to gambling and tortured his wife to bring money from her parents’ house. He picked a quarrel with his wife on Thursday night too over the same issue. She had sent her daughters to a neighbour’s house before ending her life. Lokesh is absconding, added the police.
